We are here to play hard, fight well, make money, cause trouble, and enjoy ourselves while we do it. Nobody is required to like everybody. Everybody is required to know where the line is.
If you fly under our banner, these are the terms.
Leave the hate speech at the airlock.
Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ethnic hatred, slurs directed at protected groups, or similar bigotry have no place in the Wake. Humor can be dark. The crew can be crude. Neither is an excuse to target another member because of who they are. If your idea of a good time requires somebody else to be treated as less than human, find the closest airlock and fuck off.
No rats.
What happens inside the Wake stays inside the Wake. Do not leak private communications, operational plans, internal disputes, member information, screenshots, recordings, or organizational intelligence to rival groups or outsiders. If you do, we'll make you reget leaving your hangar ever again.
Keep real-world politics out.
The Obsidian Wake is not a political organization, campaign office, debate club, or soapbox. Do not turn org channels, operations, or voice comms into arguments over politicians, elections, parties, ideology, or culture-war garbage. There are plenty of places on the internet for that. This is not one of them.
No GOD, GODS, OR OTHERWISE.
Believe what you believe. Don't believe anything. We don't care. Proselytizing, theological arguments, attacks on somebody else's beliefs, and religious debates do not belong in org spaces. Your faith—or lack of it—is your business until you decide to make it everybody else's.
Respect the crew.
Trash talk, sarcasm, profanity, criticism, and giving somebody shit are all part of the environment. Deliberate humiliation, harassment, bullying, personal attacks, or repeatedly treating another member like garbage are not. Disagreements happen. Handle them like adults. If you cannot settle something without turning it into a spectacle, take it to leadership.
Do not embarrass the Wake.
When you publicly represent The Obsidian Wake, your behavior reflects on everybody wearing the Wake's colors. Don't start pointless public drama, harass other communities, deliberately make the organization look incompetent, speak for leadership when you do not have that authority, or use the Wake's name as cover for behavior the rest of us then have to answer for. We are pirates. That does not require us to be idiots.
Handle internal problems internally.
If another member is causing problems, leadership needs to know. Bring evidence, explain what happened, and let the issue be dealt with. Do not organize public pile-ons, revenge campaigns, Discord theatrics, or rival factions inside the org. Problems get solved; they do not get cultivated.
The operation comes before the ego.
When an operation is running, follow the chain of command, keep comms usable, and do the job you agreed to do. Suggestions and criticism are welcome; sabotaging the plan because you wanted something different is not. There is a time to argue the plan and a time to execute it. Know which one you're in.
Skill is expected to grow.
Nobody arrives perfect. Members are expected to learn, practice, accept useful criticism, and help the people around them improve. Failure is not embarrassing. Refusing to learn from it is. The Wake gets more dangerous when its members make each other better.
No exploits. No TOS violations.
We play dirty in-game, not outside the rules. The Obsidian Wake does not use exploits, cheats, dupes, hacks, unauthorized software, or intentionally abused bugs to gain an advantage. We also do not knowingly violate the game’s Terms of Service or other platform rules. Finding a clever tactic, using intended mechanics aggressively, or taking advantage of another crew’s mistakes is fair game. Deliberately abusing broken mechanics or prohibited tools is not. If something sits in a gray area, ask leadership before using it. We want our victories to come from coordination, preparation, and skill—not from something that can get members banned or make the organization look illegitimate.
Don't make leadership invent a rule for you.
No charter can list every possible way somebody can become a problem. Deliberately exploiting technicalities, playing dumb, or arguing that something destructive was permitted because it was not explicitly written here will not save you. Leadership may act when behavior clearly damages the crew, the organization, its operations, or its reputation.
Violations will be handled according to severity and context. Some problems deserve a conversation. Some deserve a warning. Some deserve removal. Certain conduct—particularly serious hate speech, deliberate betrayal of the organization, malicious leaking of member information, or severe harassment—may skip directly to the door.
Membership in The Obsidian Wake is voluntary. So is keeping it.
Don't make us regret putting our name next to yours.
