Baby's first steps. You're welcome.

COMMS // HELP AVAILABLE

Just Ask

Star Citizen has spent years turning ordinary setup into something that makes a colonoscopy look preferrable. If you are unsure which package to buy, where to click, or whether something actually needs real money, ask us before you improvise your way onto the couch for the next week or two.

Somebody in the Wake has probably already made the mistake you are about to. Take advantage of that.

First Steps

01

Start With A Wake Referral

Do this first. Not later. Not after you have already made the account. Referral codes are entered when the RSI account is created and cannot be added afterward.

The button below takes you to the RSI account signup page using a Wake crew's referral code. It costs you nothing, benfits both of you, and requires less effort than explaining afterward why you skipped it.

02

Create Your RSI Account

Use the referral link above before doing anything else. Once your RSI account exists, the referral code cannot be added retroactively.

Already have an RSI account? Fine. The universe continues. Skip the referral step and move on.

03

Buy A Game Package — Not Just A Ship

To actually play Star Citizen, your account needs a Game Package. A Game Package includes access to Star Citizen and a ship. A standalone ship pledge does not magically become game access because the picture looked expensive.

Buy a basic starter package. That's enough. Your first ship exists to get you into the game, not to prove anything to strangers on the internet.

PURCHASING // OPTIONAL SELF-INFLICTED DAMAGE

You Don't Have To Buy A Fleet With Real Money

Most of the ships you are going to care about can be earned or rented in-game with aUEC. Availability changes as the Alpha changes, because of course it does, but the pledge store is not the only route to flying something larger than your starter.

More importantly, Wake members already own most of the ships you are likely to be curious about. Ask. Somebody can usually show you the ship, let you crew it, or hand you the keys long enough to discover whether you actually like it.

Try it first. Earn it in-game if you want it. Spend more real money only because you genuinely want to — not because a JPEG bullied you into a financial decision.

TAKE YOUR OATH AND DON'T BOTHER WITH THE FINE PRINT

Discord is where we talk. RSI is where Star Citizen keeps the official org roster. Once your account is ready, join the Wake there too. It's not that complicated. We would prefer to keep it that way.
